The World Series of Golf® 2nd Annual High-Stakes Golf Event Hosted by the Mirage Hotel and Casino
For additional information, please visit The World Series of Golf website, www.worldseriesofgolf.com or call 702.740.1740
What It Is: The World Series of Golf® tournament is strictly an amateur prize tournament and will be governed by the standard rules of golf. There are no handicaps, no strokes in play.
Who Can Play: Any amateur player, who can swing a golf club and pay the entry fee, can apply. Additionally, a player may be sponsored by other friends, players, clubs, and so forth.
Player Set-up: To assure players of similar skill level are grouped together, players will be pre-flighted according to skill level with validated handicaps. This tournament is designed for players with medium to high handicaps. Each player will be allowed to bring a financial advisor/caddie on the course with them.
“THE TEXAS HOLD’EM OF GOLF” Based in Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world, The World Series of Golf® allows players to compete in successive elimination matches and use the pressure of betting and the skills of golf. This is not about shooting the lowest score, as it is not a stroke play format. The challenge of this type of competition is for one golfer to win all the other players’ money in each group in each match, then advancing that player to the next round. Combining the skill of golf with the finesse of betting, players ante on each tee, which is then followed by a pass, bet or fold on each golf shot. When a player is out of money, then they are out of the hole and out of the tournament. The players do not play against the field; they play against those in their group. Players are paid after advancing through the first round.
